چکیده

Dynamic contrast material-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) can visualize alterations of vascularity and capillary permeability of breast lesions and enables us to identify breast lesions differentially from normal tissue (1-3). Owing to this characteristic of DCE-MRI, it has been widely used as INTRODUCTION Received; June 30, 2012Revised; March 22, 2013 Accepted; March 22, 2013 Corresponding author : Sung Hun Kim, M.D. Department of Radiology, Seoul St. Mary’ Hospital, College of Medicine, The Catholic University of Korea, 505 Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul 137-701, Korea. Immunohistochemical Evaluation of Human p53 Tumor Suppressor Protein Content in Ductal Carcinoma in Situ of the Breast

The focus of this study was to determine if early detection of mutant p53 accumulation may be an early indicator of tumor aggressiveness and transformation to invasive breast cancer. For this purpose, the p53 content of 100 human breast biopsies classified as ductal carcinoma (DCIS), was evaluated by immunohistochemical method. All specimens were microscopically classified into histologic types...

Is there a difference in FDG PET findings of invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast with and without coexisting DCIS?

Objective(s): Studies have reported that invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC) with coexisting ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) show lower metastatic potential and recurrence and better overall survival than pure IDC. In this study, we assessed F-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) imagesof patients with newly diagnosed IDC to...

18F-fluorodeoxyglucose uptake as predictor for invasion in preoperatively diagnosed breast ductal carcinoma in situ: Significance in cases without mass formation

A diagnosis of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) at needle biopsy often changes to that of invasive ductal carcinoma as the definitive pathological diagnosis following the surgical procedure. The present study sought to identify the factors associated with invasive disease in cases diagnosed as DCIS on needle biopsy by analyzing 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose-proton emission tomography (FDG-PET) findings...

Androgen Receptor Analysis in Relation to Estrogen and Progesterone Receptors as well as Histological Grade for Ductal Carcinoma In Situ of the Breast

Background and Objective: Since the advent of mammography screening, ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) of the breast has been diagnosed increasingly. In contrast to the situation in invasive breast carcinoma, there are only a few reports on androgen receptor (AR) status in DCIS and few reports on estrogen ...

A Study of Matrix Metalloproteinase 9 and CD31 Expression through Immunohistochemistry in Invasive Breast Cancer

Background & Aims: This study was performed to investigate possible relationships between the manifestation of stromal cells (fibroblasts and/or myofibroblasts) by focusing on expression of their matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP9) and possible angiogenesis based on CD31 and CD34 antigen expression during the various steps of hyperplastic changes to precancerousstate and invasive breast cancer. M...
